A stimulating read for anyone interested in connecting with people beyond the church. Ian Maher urges Christians to engage with a medium that he argues both reflects and shapes our culture. He explores several ways in which films may be used, including a helpful discussion about the opportunities they present for emotional as well as intellectual engagement with people. This is a really practical book—it offers suggestions for using films in both formal and informal evangelistic environments, and also points to further resources. Above all it gives encouragement to have a go! I was left feeling I didn't need to be a film buff to use this medium creatively in evangelism. The book will spark your imagination and equip you to use films more effectively.
High Point: Clearly structured, with important information and handy hints in
boxes.
Low Point: No biblical material about relating the gospel to culture.
